My life in Tokyo and sometimes in other parts of the world, part 2
After attending a convention in Cannes, France, I was headed for London to take care of more business. I stayed in this hotel as it was our business partner’s choice. Very small rooms but efficient and great for a short stay and convenient for going to the O2 which was on my agenda.

I used to stay in Cannes for six nights straight in the past but due to changes in the industry, three nights has become just enough to get everything done. My final day in Cannes, France for 2018.

I went to have lunch at Mullixhiu, a highly praised restaurant in Tirana, Albania, for its interesting and tasty menu using local ingredients, but it didn’t quite work out so nicely unfortunately. What’s shown here was all good but I sent back stuff not shown here. ^^

On the way back to Tirana, the capital city of Albania, from Berat, one of the World Heritage sites in the country, my very kind (as it wasn’t included in the original plan) guide made a stop at a family-owned winery to try some local Albanian wines with other nibbles. Very relaxing and enjoyable time was spent and I took home a couple of bottles.

A visit to the 18th-century traditional house turned into an ethnographic museum where the kind guide is a direct descendant of the original family that owned the Berat-Albania house. A relaxing lunch followed (at a different location).

This was my first proper meal in Tirana, the capital city of Albania. It’s hard ordering for one but the grape leaf wrapped dolmas were excellent and I could just have that all day. The wine was from Kosovo.

While I’m not the fussiest person, drinking and eating are two of the most important elements for me when going on trips around the world. Here more of my favorite pastime from Xi’an, China.
Happened between April 1 and 2, 2018.
I always thought plain “Chandon” (as opposed to “Moët Chandon” from Champagne, France but still belonging to the same group of companies LVMH) came from Australia as that is what we see in Japan. But upon my visit to Xi’an, China, I discovered that there was such thing as Domaine Chandon China. Tried it on a couple of occasions partly because drinking wine in China is very challenging while being pricey. I thought this was the safest choice and it was. And apparently there is also Domaine Chandon India.
