The French Community in Tokyo

This was back in May when I was invited to attend a music event being held at Institut Français du Japon in Tokyo. A bit difficult to see how busy it was but the courtyard of the Institute being used as a music venue to host Orelsan was packed. It was as though all French expats living in Tokyo gathered here. And they knew all the words to what the rapper had to say.

The Final Event in Paris with a Visit to Ferber Studios

Juliette Greco, Serge Gainsbourg, Jane Birkin, Vanessa Paradis and many others have recorded here is what I have read. The weather had cleared by the time I was going over to the Ferber Studios in the late afternoon and a reception and a tour of the studios followed by a lovely showcase by Sparky in the Clouds were a perfect way to end my stay in Paris.

More from when I was in Paris the first week of February, 2018. This was a day of attending presentations and showcases including an impressive cocktail at the Palais-Royal hosted by the French Minister of Culture, Mme. Françoise Nyssen. And we had more snow on this day.

A Day in Limehouse, London

Started off with a great lunch with an old friend, followed by a walk around the marina, buying honey at the weekend market, attending an event at the Tobacco Dock, and finished off in a craft beer pub one November Saturday in Limehouse, London.

Work brought me to London in November, 2017 at which time I stayed in Limehouse in east London for the first time, had good business meetings with good food to go with, and experienced “Black Friday” for the first time as well.
